When do you get up? It changes. Lately it’s been 5 or 6 in the morning because I’ve been working more. … I’ve got to get everything going. I want to do some physical workout, so I scale my own home — I put up scaffolding and do some spelunking stuff.
Do you have a morning ritual? Yeah. Chicken blood. And animals all laid out in the yard in different octagonal shapes. And haystacks — I like to run around haystacks six times. Morning ritual ... I guess it’s usually just shower off the flop sweat and get it going.
Do you have a favorite breakfast? I was going to eat Honeynut Cheerios this morning, but I ended up having chow mein ‘cause, you know, I’m a fool.
What is a regular breakfast for you? I don’t eat breakfast enough. I should. It would be cereal.
What is your favorite place for breakfast in New York City? I’m a bit partial to Barney Greengrass on the Upper West Side. I like it because they only take cash, so no matter what, you can see people running across the street to an ATM. ... You could put me in almost any restaurant in New York City … give me a New York Times and a cup of coffee and some egg whites and I’m a pretty damn happy animal.
