Jennifer Blumin

This week, we're putting in a wake-up call to Jennifer Blumin, president of Skylight Group, which curates and transforms some of the city's most underused spaces into event spectacles. The group's latest project is Skylight at the McKittrick Hotel, the setting for the "Sleep No More" show.

Do you set an alarm? I try not to set an alarm because I feel that it starts the day off on the wrong foot, no matter how catchy a melody I pick on my iPhone. However, when it's got to be done, "snooze" absolutely and the song is "Marimba," although I really miss waking up to "The Entertainer" on BlackBerry.

What's the biggest event of your morning? I go to either yoga or Physique 57, a crazy-person workout routine in SoHo (which is amazing), every morning. Coffee plus exercise and I'm ready to go. I then bike to wherever the action is at the venues.

And that only leads to more events throughout the day? I've been spending a lot of time at the McKittrick Hotel - the beautiful backdrop of the famous "Sleep No More" show - where we've recently partnered to create Skylight at the McKittrick Hotel. It's a surreal place to spend the day - I still don't know my way around the place because it is so immense and transportive. You never know when you are going to stumble into a taxidermied creature, a bathtub or a detective agency.

If you could wake up in any Manhattan space, what would it be? I imagine the Temple of Dendur at the Met would maybe make my morning feel a little more profound ... . It would probably be a trade-up from my current toss of blankets and other sleep clutter.
