MTA officials are narrowing down a list of possible service restorations throughout the system, according to a report.
The cash-strapped agency is planning to spend "tens of millions" to brink back axed servicen, according to a Daily News report, including making temporary G train routes in Brooklyn permanent, and adding more bus stops, particularly in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
An MTA spokesman said he "would neither confirm nor deny" the report Monday.
"We are always looking for ways that we can improve service and invest more in our customers," the spokesman said.
Chairman Joseph Lhota hinted at adding back service at last month's board meeting, saying he was looking at "doomsday" cuts made in 2010 to see what the MTA could bring back as it is expected to raise fares in 2013 by 7.5%.
Sources confirmed to amNewYork Monday that the added service would most likely not mean bringing back slashed subway and bus routes, but rerouting existing lines to adjust for current ridership trends.
