Fastrack Credit: Workers doing maintenance work during a "Fastrack" shutdown last month

The No. 1/2/3 subway lines will be shut down for overnight maintenance between Brooklyn and Manhattan for four days this week, beginning Monday night.

It's the second time the MTA is shutting down the service between Penn Station and Atlantic Avenue since it began its "Fastrack" program this year. The agency says it lets hundreds of workers perform many tasks safer and quicker than it would if they had to scurry away each time a train passed by.

Service will be canceled from Monday through Friday morning between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., adding about 20 minutes to as many as 37,500 straphangers trips each night.

The next shutdown will be from April 23 to 27 on the A/C/E lines between 59th Street-Columbus Circle and Jay Street Metrotech.
