Transit officials Monday confirmed what most subway riders already know: trains are running late and they are doing so more often.
The problem seems to be the worst with the numbered lines, which authorities said they coincidentally have been using a more accurate system to track on-time performance.
An MTA spokesman said track and signal work was largely to blame for the March service delays on the numbered lines.
