Kelsey Nixon, 26, is host of “Kelsey’s Essentials” on the Cooking Channel. She was also voted fan favorite on season 4 of “The Next Food Network Star.” She lives on the Upper East Side with her husband.

What time do you get up on weekdays?
Because my husband usually doesn't get home from work until later in the evening, we usually spend time together late in the evening (and into the wee hours of the morning)… so we sleep until about 8. The age old saying, "early to bed, early to rise" is quite the opposite for us, we are more like "late to bed, late to rise."

Do you hit the snooze button?
Yes. Every single morning. I think that there was a time in my life when I didn't hit snooze, but then I married a man who has mastered the art of hitting the snooze button.

Do you have a morning ritual?
[It] usually involves wrapping up in my cozy robe and watching the “Today Show” paired with responding to email and having a simple breakfast.

What's your all-time favorite breakfast?
Huevos rancheros

What's your usual breakfast?
I try and switch up my breakfast routine by having different seasonal fruits on hand paired with something a bit more hearty like oatmeal or whole grain toast.

Any favorite breakfast spots in your neighborhood?
Effy's Cafe, Sarabeth's, The Vinegar Factory
