N.J. boy, 4, killed in Staten Island as SUV mows down family, cops say
A 4-year-old boy is dead after an SUV mowed down a family crossing a Staten Island street.
Police said the Mercedes Benz was leaving a deli at around 8:25 p.m. Friday when it struck the boy, a 34-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl.
The woman and girl weren't badly hurt. Police said the driver sped off after the accident.
Police identified the slain child as Kyrillos Gendy, of South Amboy, N.J.
Authorities said the boy was visiting relatives at a nearby home when the accident occurred.
Police were trying to identify the driver.
