The Nets are trying to land Celtics veterans Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce in a blockbuster trade, according to multiple reports.
A potential deal could include Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, either MarShon Brooks or Tornike Shengelia and three future first-round picks going to Boston in exchange for Garnett and Pierce. Reportedly, no trade is imminent, it probably couldn’t go through until after July 10 when the NBA’s moratorium on player transactions ends if a deal is made.
The Nets would also have to convince Garnett to waive his no-trade clause and it’s unclear if the 37-year-old would be willing to do so.
But Yahoo! Sports reports the discussions are “serious” and could also involve more players changing sides.
