Was RFK a brain-snatcher?
A new book out this month claims that Robert Kennedy stole the brain of brother John F. Kennedy, the latest theory in a long history of ideas about what happened to JFK's still-missing brain after his assassination.
James Swanson writes in "End of Days: The Assassination of John F. Kennedy," out Nov. 12, that after JFK's autopsy, his brain was put into a steel container that was kept at the National Archives and later swiped by RFK.
"In October 1966, it was discovered that the brain, the tissue slides and other autopsy materials were missing -- and they have never been seen since," Swanson told the New York Post.
Conspiracy theorists have alleged that the brain went missing to hide evidence that would contradict the government official story of the assassination, but Swanson said RFK nabbed it for other reasons.
"My conclusion is that Robert Kennedy did take his brother's brain," Swanson said. "Not to conceal evidence of a conspiracy but perhaps to conceal evidence of the true extent of President Kennedy's illnesses, or perhaps to conceal evidence of the number of medications that President Kennedy was taking."
