New book says Christian Bale made young fangirls cry

Why are we not surprised that Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale isn't all fuzzy and warm to his fans?

In fact, according to a new book, the "Batman" star, 38, was so nasty to young fangirls that he made them cry, his ex publicist says in an unflattering Bale biography (which we're assuming is wholly unauthorized).

According to Cheung, Bale was less than receptive when being approached by fans in public, even going so far as to "lecture little girls about being rude and intrusive until tears streamed down their faces, and their parents tugged them away from our table," according to the Huffington Post, which reviewed the new book.

"Christian Bale: The Inside Story of the Darkest Batman" reveals even stranger details about Bale and his less-than-willing penchant to engage his fans, detailing the actor's bizarre reaction when he received a fan letter at his home. According to Cheung, Bale sent him a fax saying the fan should be "eliminated" and added: "Better to be safe than sorry. A screwdriver thrust thru the eyeball into the brain prevents any screaming. Let me know how it goes."

OK, perhaps the cranky star was being saracastic in this case, but Cheung also claims that Bale skipped his "Dark Knight" co-star Heath Ledger's funeral and says his years working with the star not only left him shaken, but also led him into intensive therapy, according to the HuffPo.

"My therapist would describe my condition as post-traumatic stress disorder," Cheung wrote.
