Tech savvy New Yorkers now a new way to catch livery cab.

The GetTaxi app, which is already available in the United Kingdom, Israel and Russia, launched Thursday that gives people the ability to e-hail a select group of black cabs.

"GetTaxi combines state-of-the-art technology -- neglected by traditional car fleets -with 24/7 personal customer service -- which has been overlooked by competitive tech startups," GetTaxi founder and CEO Shahar Waiser said in a statement.

The company said it will expand the apps coverage to include yellow taxis and the city's upcoming green cabs, livery cabs which can legally take hails in the outer boroughs.

The city is testing out many apps for its yellow cab e-hail program while it tries to resolve a lawsuit against the livery cab companies.
