'Men in Black 3'
Quite frankly, this film has no business being as good as it is, especially when you consider the mediocre previous entry. Apparently, time heals all wounds, as this time-travel tinged adventure is a great endeavor. While returning stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are fun and familiar, the real star of this film is Josh Brolin, who plays Jones' character in the 1960s. He brings a new dynamic to the franchise and offers some legitimately interesting character development for Jones' Agent K, who viewers only knew as a serious, no-nonsense guy. The film even manages a time-travel story that kind of makes sense (But, you know, don't think about it too much). (Out Friday. DVD, $30.99; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $40.99; Blu-ray 3-D/Blu-ray/DVD combo, $55.99)
'ParaNorman'
This horror-tinged stop-frame animated flick from the folks who made the sublime "Coraline" follows a young boy who can see ghosts as he works to save his town. The story is fine, but the amazing animation is really the star here. (DVD, $29.99; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $34.98; Blu-ray 3-D/Blu-ray/DVD combo, $49.98)
'Step Up Revolution'
Everybody dance now! Specifically, Miami import Emily (Kathryn McCormick), who falls for a guy who runs flash mobs. Together, can they save the mob's beloved neighborhood? (DVD, $29.95; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $39.99)
'Lawless'
This Prohibition-era film about some bootlegging brothers stars Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman and an especially odd Guy Pearce. (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $39.99)
'Sparkle'
Whitney Houston makes her final screen performance in this Jordin Sparks vehicle about a 1960s girl group and their troubles with fame. Also starring Cee Lo Green. (Out Friday. DVD, $30.99; Blu-ray, $35.99)
'In Search Of...The Complete Series'
Leonard Nimoy hosts this series that ran from 1976-1982, which investigated different mysteries, from the paranormal to famous missing persons to the Lincoln Assassination. So yes, it is not unlike "Unsolved Mysteries." (DVD, $149.99)
TV on DVD
'Cagney & Lacey: The Complete Series - 30th Anniversary' (DVD, $189.99)
'Hot in Cleveland: Season Three' (DVD, $29.98)
'Luck: The Complete Series' (DVD, $59.99; Blu-ray, $79.98)
'McMillan & Wife Complete Series' (DVD, $169.99)
