‘Killing Season’ Once upon a time, a new Robert De Niro movie was a big deal. And once upon a (much, much briefer) time, a new John Travolta movie was a big deal. Those times are not now, and this brutal film, which pairs the two, won’t bring them back. Directed by Mark Steven Johnson (“Daredevil”), “Killing Season” follows a grumpy old man (De Niro) who lives alone in the wilderness and befriends a mysterious Bosnian man (Travolta, with a dreadful accent) who one day shows up in his secluded neighborhood. I’m not going to pretend this isn’t obvious — look at the title of the film: These two are going to battle, and it’s going to be gruesome. I’ll let you find out why, though. That said, while these are two actors who seem to make a lot of bad films these days, this one actually isn’t that awful. Perhaps that’s the biggest shocker of all here. (DVD, $28.99; Blu-ray, $29.99)
‘Epic’ From the makers of “Ice Age” comes this animated adventure about a girl who is shrunk down to help save a forest world. The visuals here are stunning, even if the story is a bit generic. (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $39.99; Blu-ray 3-D/Blu-ray/DVD combo, $49.99)
‘Star Trek: Enterprise — Complete Second Season’ The only “Star Trek” TV series still in play after the new films changed the “Star Trek” history never got the acclaim given some of its predecessors, but this Scott Bakula-fronted show — set 100 years before the days of Captain Kirk — is a fun ride. If you’re even a passing fan of the series, you’ll have a great time with these adventures. (Blu-ray, $129.99)
‘Amour’ Director Michael Haneke’s story about an elderly couple dealing with the difficulties of aging won the Oscar for best foreign language film of 2012. (DVD, $30.99; Blu-ray, $35.99)
Also out ‘Arthur Newman’ (DVD, $24.95; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $29.95) ‘Scary Movie 5’ (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray, $39.99) ‘No One Lives’(DVD, $26.98; Blu-ray, $30.99) ‘Evidence’ (DVD, $27.97; Blu-ray, $29.97)<NO> ‘Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey’ (DVD, $29.95)
TV on DVD ‘Being Human: Season Five’ (DVD, $34.98; Blu-ray, $39.98) ‘Best of Pawn Stars: Greatest Stories Ever Sold’ (DVD, $14.98) ‘Boardwalk Empire: The Complete Third Season’ (DVD, $59.99; Blu-ray, $79.98) ‘The Good Wife: The Fourth Season’ (DVD, $64.99) ‘Mike & Molly: The Complete Third Season’ (DVD, $44.98) ‘NCIS: Los Angeles: The Fourth Season’ (DVD, $64.99) ‘NCIS: The Complete Tenth Season’ (DVD, $64.99) ‘Parenthood:Season Four’ (DVD, $69.98) ‘Revenge: The Complete Second Season’ (DVD, $45.99)
