New on DVD & Blu-ray: 'Stuck in Love'

My feelings about this romantic dramedy are quite mixed. On the one hand, you have likable actors (Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Lily Collins, Nat Wolff) giving solid performances. On the other hand, you have a somewhat pointless film that doesn't really add anything to the world of cinema that hasn't been seen in a bunch of other films. So, why did I like "Stuck in Love," and why am I going to recommended it? Because sometimes you just want to watch likable people doing stuff in a perfectly pleasant way. There are some ups and downs and you know it will all work out in the end, but the film is just compelling enough to make you want to see it through. If, you know, you like that kind of thing. I'm no fan of Ethan Hawke, but this horror film is a successful thriller. It is set in an alternate America where people are allowed to take out any and all of their aggressions during a 12-hour period once a year. (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $34.98)
