Ted

Ted

'Ted'
"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane makes his feature film directorial debut with this raunchy comedy about a kid named John who wishes for his stuffed teddy bear to come to life and become his best friend. The wish comes true. Years later, the boy - grown up and looking a lot like Mark Wahlberg - is living with his stuffed pal Ted (voiced by MacFarlane and sounding a lot like Peter Griffin, which is acknowledged) and in a 4-year relationship with Lori (Mila Kunis). Ted and John have a weird, childish relationship, and Lori wants him to grow up. There are some funny and creepy subplots (about "Flash Gordon" star Sam J. Jones and a kidnapping, respectively), but it's a surprisingly feel-good film about friendship, tinged with classic "Family Guy" humor. (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $34.98)

'The Bourne Legacy'
Jeremy Renner steps into the lead of this spy series that once starred Matt Damon. Those are some big shoes to fill. (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $34.98)

'Ice Age: Continental Drift'
The fourth "Ice Age" features the animals dealing with, well, continental drift. With the voices of Ray Romano, John Lequizamo and Denis Leary. (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray/DVD combo, $39.99; Blu-ray 3-D/Blu-ray/DVD combo, $49.99)

'Girls: The Complete First Season'
I detested this new HBO series starring Lena Dunham, about some awful people living in NYC. But, for some reason I'll never understand, a lot of people loved it. Send your hate mail to scott.rosenberg@am-ny.com. (DVD, $39.98; Blu-ray, $49.99)

TV on DVD
'Futurama: Volume 7' (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray, $39.99)
'Gunsmoke: The Seventh Season Vol. 1' (DVD, $36.98)
'Law & Order: Criminal Intent: Year Nine' (DVD, $44.99)
'Mankind: The Story of All of Us' (DVD, $29.98; Blu-ray, $39.95)
