New season, new chances: Rangers schedule announced

The Rangers will take on the Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings to open the next NHL season on October 12 in L.A., the league announced Thursday.
The Blueshirts hope to rebound after suffering a disappointing playoff loss to the rival Devils this year.
These are five can't-miss Rangers games for the 2012-13 season:
-- Nov. 1 - Home-opener against the Dallas Stars
-- Nov. 4 - First game against rival Philadelphia Flyers
-- Dec. 2 - Rangers take on the Islanders at home
-- Dec. 22 - First of three home games against the Devils
-- Feb. 7 - Home game against the Los Angeles Kings
