Somebody up there must love the Jets.

After two overtime victories the past two games, the Jets pulled another great escape in a 30-27 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday.

This time, the magical connection between Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes produced victory with just 10 seconds remaining, on a 6-yard catch off a fade to the back corner of the end zone. A 42-yard catch by Braylon Edwards set it up, and it all came after a miserable defensive string in which the Texans scored 17 unanswered points in just more than 10 minutes of the fourth quarter.

Culminating the Texans’ (4-6) onslaught was running back Arian Foster’s 1-yard touchdown run with 2:18 remaining in the game, his second, and one on which he reached the ball over the goal line as he was being brought down short.

Sanchez, who finished 22-for-38 for 315 yards and three touchdowns, tried to get them back. But he threw an interception to linebacker Kevin Bentley with 1:52 to go as defensive lineman Tim Jamison hit Sanchez's arm just before his release.

Neil Rackers’ 22-yard field goal with 55 seconds should have iced the game. But the Jets, AFC East leaders at 8-2, are accomplishing great things this year, and even without a timeout to work with, Sanchez moved his team.

LaDainian Tomlinson got them into Houston territory with a reception, and then Sanchez put a throw between the corner and the safety to the streaking Edwards for a first down at the 6 with 16 seconds remaining. His throw 8 seconds later to Holmes, who finished with seven catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns, completed the most amazing comeback of the Jets' season.
