A PATH train became a maternity ward Monday morning when a straphanger went into a labor.

A conductor turned the Manhattan-bound subway into an express train, but the train wasn't able to move fast enough -- the 31-year-old woman gave birth between West 23rd and West 33rd streets.

A passenger helped the woman from Harrison, N.J., deliver her baby boy just before 10 a.m. as her husband and other passengers looked on, Port Authority spokesman Ron Marsico said Monday. The baby’s father was cradling his son when cops met the train at West 33rd Street.

Police wrapped the baby in a blanket, and the family was rushed to St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, where officials said they were “doing fine” Monday night.

“He decided to come out, and that was it,” the unidentified mother said in an interview with WABC-TV from her hospital bed. “Nothing could stop him.”
