Firefighters have gotten a fire at New York City's tourist-friendly South Street Seaport under control.

There were no early reports of injuries from the Saturday afternoon blaze.

Smoke billowed from the three-alarm fire as it burned beneath Pier 17 — the site of the Seaport Music Festival concerts held throughout the summer.

As firefighters battled the blaze a large cloud of smoke rose over the East River. The U.S. Coast Guard also responded.

South Street Seaport's shops and restaurants are a popular spot on the river.
