North West's name right on mark: Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner thinks daughter Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West went in the right direction by choosing the moniker North West for their new baby girl.

“I love the name North. I’m pro-North, absolutely,” Jenner said on ABC’s “The View” Wednesday.

Jenner defended the name given to her granddaughter after “The View’s” Barbara Walters said “there’s been a lot of controversy” surrounding it. Said Walters: “I mean, it’s funny, but do you really want your child named North West?”

“The way [Kardashian] explained it to me, north means highest power, and North is their highest point together,” Jenner said. “I thought that was really sweet.”

She added, with a laugh, that little North usually won’t be called by her full name: “You don’t walk around calling somebody, ‘Hi, North West!”
