Riders along the No. 2 and No. 5 lines deal with more "controllable" problems than any other lines, according to a new analysis of MTA incident alerts.
A Straphangers Campaign report Tuesday showed the most cited problem was "signal problems."
The MTA says the issue remains a "top priority" and has dedicated more than $2 billion between 2010 and 2014 to the issue. MTA head Joseph Lhota has repeatedly said it was an area he would focus on for future capital budgets.
Some of their findings:
- The No. 2 line had 251 “significant problems” last year – or 8 % of all problems. The No. 5 line came in a close second, with 247 problems.
- The G line had 45 problems – the fewest.
- “Signal problems” made up 36% of all incidents.
- About 43% of all problems were in Manhattan
