Some suburban New York parents are hot under the collar because a politician called police on 13-year-olds for selling baked goods without a permit.

The Journal News, in Westchester County, filed a Freedom of Information request. It reported Monday that New Castle Councilman Michael Wolfensohn had called police last month.

Andrew DeMarchis and Kevin Graff had a brisk business selling cupcakes, cookies, brownies and Rice Krispie treats in a Chappaqua park.

Wolfensohn said rules are rules. But he concedes that calling the police might have been a half-baked decision.

Andrew said he doesn’t get many babysitting offers, and there are no snow shoveling jobs where he lives.
