The New York Post fell victim to an apparent April Fools’ Day joke on Saturday night when someone hacked the publication’s app notification system and sent nine push-button alerts that included “Heil President Donald Trump.”

Another alert said: “Open your heart to those you do not understand and listen to all those you fear and look down upon.”

Lyrics from rock band Nirvana’s song “Come As You Are” were also sent.

“Take your time, hurry up, the choice is yours, but don’t be late ...,” read the alert.

The Post apologized shortly after the hoax alerts appeared, saying in a follow-up alert: “Our push alert notification system was compromised this evening. We are working to resolve the issue. Please accept our apologies.”
