(AP) — Police say a woman biking in Brooklyn was hit by a car door and propelled into the path of a city bus that killed her.

The woman's name was not released. Police say she was riding on Atlantic Avenue near Prospect Heights Saturday evening when she was clipped by a car door that sent her reeling into the path of an MTA bus. She was struck by the bus and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses said the woman who opened the parked door didn't know she had touched off the accident, and left the scene before police brought her back. No criminality is suspected at this time.
