NYC honored for hitting environmental milestones

Gotham is a leader in environmentalism and now they the trophy to prove it.

Rohit Aggarwala, outgoing director of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s long-term planning and sustainability office, and the city were honored Monday by ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability USA for reaching the five milestones of climate change mitigation.

The milestones include detailing the progress of PlaNYC, the city’s green initiatives, through a report. The third annual PlaNYC progress report is to be released Thursday, Earth Day.
