New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is preparing for his ninth “state of the city” speech.
Bloomberg is set to speak in Astoria, Queens, on Wednesday afternoon. Each year he holds the event in a different borough.
The mayor was elected last year to a third term. He had been limited to two consecutive terms. He persuaded the City Council to change the law so that he could run again.
He promised in his inauguration speech on Jan. 1 that he would “listen and lead” because of the special opportunity.
