A stray bullet grazed the knee of a 1-year-old child while a 20-year-old man suffered a wound to the knee after shots rang out from an unknown shooter on a Brooklyn street Saturday afternoon, police said.

The incident happened about 5:15 p.m. when a bullet grazed the right knee of the child, who was with his mother and grandmother on Sutter Avenue between Van Sinderen Avenue and Junius Street in Brownsville, police said.

A short distance away, a 20-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the right knee, police said.

The man told investigators he heard the gunshot and felt pain, police said. He did not cooperate with investigators.

The child was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, police said. The 20-year-old man was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Both are expected to survive, police said.

No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the shooting, police said.
