An off-duty NYPD detective was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly driving drunk in Manhattan and then injuring one of the police officers trying to arrest him.
Harold Thomas, 49, was busted in Washington Heights at about 12:45 a.m. for allegedly driving drunk, according to police, and then refused to take a breath test before resisting arrest.
An unidentified police officer who was trying to cuff Thomas was treated for a minor knee injury, according to a police spokesman.
Thomas, who was shot by robbers last summer while on vacation in Florida, is suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation. He was awaiting arraignment at press time, and his lawyers' name was unavailable.
