A body found in Sheepshead Bay on Monday, wrapped in black plastic bags and with the feet in a bucket of cement, was identified as that of a 28-year-old Brooklyn man with a lengthy criminal record, NYPD officials said Wednesday.

Peter Martinez, 28, was fished out of the bay by police after his corpse was discovered by a student, police said.

Martinez had 31 prior arrests, although police wouldn’t release details of the cases. Investigators believe that Martinez may have been the victim of a drug dispute among gang members.

Martinez, whose hands were bound, had been in the water as long as two months, according to an NYPD official.
