NYPD investigates two infant deaths
Police are investigating the deaths of two infant boys in New York City, one of whom was brought to the hospital seriously bruised, officials said Wednesday.
The first to die was Eduardo Rocha Ovalle, 4 months old, of 11 E. 32nd St., who was unconscious and unresponsive when his parents brought him late Tuesday to NYU Langone Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.
Eduardo had bruising on his hands, feet, back and genitals, police said.
Investigators were waiting to obtain a warrant Wednesday to search the family's home, officials said.
In the Bronx, at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, police found 1-month-old Lester Classen unconscious and unresponsive at 620 Trinity Ave. Lester was taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Police were awaiting autopsy results in both cases.
