NYPD: SUV jumps curb, kills pedestrian

Police say a 56-year-old man was fatally struck by an SUV in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.

The accident happened at around 9:45 p.m. Friday on West 42nd Street and 11th Avenue.

Police say the SUV collided with a freight truck. They say the SUV then jumped the curb and struck Victor Grant, of the Bronx.

Grant was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Both drivers remained at the scene. There were no arrests and the investigation is continuing.
