Observer publisher Jared Kushner may be bidding for the Dodgers

Donald Trump's son-in-law may want to buy a baseball team.

Jared Kushner, husband to Trump's daughter Ivanka, has made it to the second round of bidding in the sweepstakes to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Kushner, owner and publisher of The New York Observer since 2006, would be the youngest owner in the MLB at 31 years old.

Though details of any potential deal are scarce, published reports have speculated that the price tag for the team could reach $2 billion.

Kushner's bid is only one of nine that have advanced to the second round, according to the Times, and it would be funded solely by the Kushner family.

Kushner didn't return an email seeking comment, and in a statement, the Dodgers declined to comment on his potential involvement.

"Names continue to appear in media reports as potential bidders in the LAD sales process," the team's statement said. "LAD has not and will not comment on the names of potential bidders, including names that appear in press reports. All bona fide bidders engaged in the LAD sales process have signed non disclosure agreements."

Kushner is the son of prominent real estate developer Charles Kushner, though the senior Kushner is not a part of the bid for the Dodgers, the Times said.
