Occupy Wall Street demonstrators peacefully marched to One Police Plaza in lower Manhattan at lunchtime Tuesday, calling for the resignation of NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.

With some holding a red-lettered banner reading "Kelly Must Resign," about 100 demonstrators walked through the outdoor cafe plaza as office and construction workers stopped eating to watch the protesters proceed to the police mall.

There, several demonstrators who had been arrested over the weekend at Zuccotti Park spoke about the police brutality they said they had witnessed.

Police had arrested more than 70 people late Saturday night.

One woman, Jen Walker, 25, of Oakland, Calif., said she was in jail for 26 hours after she was arrested at Zuccotti Park.

"They held me and 20 other women in a 6-by-10 cell and threatened to Taser us if we didn't stop singing," Walker said.

She was released Monday at 3 a.m. and told "the charges were dropped," she said.

"This is a symbolic demonstration of police brutality," said Michael Premo, 30, of Brooklyn, who faced demonstrators who had covered their mouths with duct tape, wore plastic handcuffs and held white roses.

Mayor Micheal Bloomberg has said that members of the NYPD respect protesters' rights.

"This police department knows how to control crowds without excessive force," Bloomberg said Monday. "They do allow you to protest but they don't let it get out of hand."

Also looking for support from Occupy Wall Street was Linda Sarsour of the Muslim American Civil Liberties Coalition, which seeks to stop NYPD surveillance of Muslim-owned businesses, mosques and individuals.
