Off-duty cop charged with hurting girlfriend: NYPD

An off-duty cop found himself on the other side of the law Monday after he was arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend.
Officers charged George Sotomayor, 30, with assault and strangulation following the early morning incident in the Bronx, the NYPD said. A police spokesman said the victim wasn't seriously injured in the alleged attack.
