Even God can’t seem to please all of the people all of the time.

In a recent poll, 52% of respondents said yes when asked, “if God exists, do you approve or disapprove of its performance.” A whopping 40% said they weren’t sure and 9% said they disapproved, providing endless fodder and delight to the writers of late night comedy shows.

Yet, when asked, “If God exists, do you approve or disapprove of its handling of creating the universe?” 71% gave God a thumbs up. The big guy understandably foundered when it came to His natural disaster performance: Only 50% signaled approval when asked “If God exists, do you approve or disapprove of its handling of natural disasters?” A surprising 37% just weren’t sure.

God can take solace in the approval ratings of Rupert Murdoch, solicited, like God’s from a collection of 928 voters between July 15 and 17 by Public Policy Polling, a Raleigh, N.C.-based organization. When asked their opinion of the Australian press baron embroiled in an epic hacking scandal, 49% said “unfavorable” and 12% indicated they had a positive impression.

Disapproval ratings – 54% and 55% - were logged for Congressional Democrats and Republicans. Waddya expect – it’s not like they’re GOD.
