One-bedroom unit rates rose slightly across Manhattan last month, according to the MNS October 2012 Manhattan Rental Report.
This is a good time if you're in the market for a doorman building, as those units increased an average of $15, compared to a $71 rise for non-doorman buildings.
Great deals can be found in the East Village and Lower East Side, where rates this month for doorman one-bedrooms dropped 2.4% and 3.2%, respectively.
Still, non-doorman studios in the hip Gramercy neighborhood fell 3.6% since September, while doorman studios increased 3.2%, more than anything else in the neighborhood.
Non-doorman studio and one-bedroom apartment rents rose by $38 and $34, respectively, on the Upper West Side.
