‘O’ boy!

Oprah, the queen of daytime television (and magazines, cable, etc.) regains her throne as No. 1 among the world’s most powerful celebrity capitalists.

After two years at No. 2, the 59-year-old media power player heads Forbes’ 14th Annual Celebrity 100 List for a fifth time, ousting last year’s No. 1, Jennifer Lopez, who has fallen to No. 12. Pop icons and list vets Lady Gaga (No. 2) and Madonna (No. 5) also secured power positions in this year’s female- and musician-dominated top 10.

Forbes determines measurements of money and fame by culling from a variety of sources for estimated annual earnings, media coverage prevalence, media marketability and, most recently, social networking strength, a gauge introduced this year.

The high-power catalog was well-stocked with New York natives. Aside from Lopez, Robert Downey Jr. (No. 20), Donald Trump (No. 30), Jay-Z (No. 32), Adam Sandler (No. 40), Howard Stern (No. 45) and Jerry Seinfeld (No. 60) were among the prevailing personalities representing the Big Apple across the celebrity spectrum.
