The black plague has left an Oregon man in critical condition, according to officials.
The unidentified man got sick after being bitten when he tried to pull a mouse away from a stray cat on June 2, according to The Oregonian.
Emilio DeBess, Oregon's public health veterinarian, told the paper that doctors are uncertain if the man was bitten by the cat or the mouse. Tests are being done on the cat, which died shortly after the incident.
