If we had infinite time and energy, these are the shows we'd be hitting tonight:

Plates of Cake

Yeah, these Brooklynites, pictured above, sound like they've taken the "Rushmore" soundtrack and added a toy drum machine, but we like it.

They're at Union Hall with Rope, Zachary Cale, Man Benu, Woodsy Pride and Prudence Teacup.

Francis and the Lights

Their sound is simple and crisp. Not-quite lo-fi, but nothing fancy.

They're at The Studio at Webster Hall, with Surfer Blood, Dominique Young Unique and Fake Problems.

Francis and the Lights also play Mercury Lounge on Friday and the Knitting Factory on Saturday.

Miniature Tigers

Another band that updates the Retro-Anglo aesthetic.

They're at Music Hall of Williamsburg with Kevin Devine and the Goddamn Band, River City Extension, Death on Two Wheels and Oh Land.

Pete Rock, Pharoahe Monch, Jean Grae

If you're a fan of modern soul/r&B, you're a fool if you miss this show.

They're at Le Poisson Rouge.

Das Racist

This rap duo is incredibly divisive. But they're getting a lot of positive notice from some pretty cool people.

They're at Pianos with We Are Trees, Franz Nicolay (The Strokes), Fenech-Soler, City Riots and Ma Mentor.

Das Racist also plays Santos Party House on Thursday.
