Paperwork glitch stalls release of Cashman stalker

A paperwork glitch prevented the release of Louise Meanwell, 35, the woman who allegedly shook down Yankees GM Brian Cashman by threatening to expose their affair, from Rikers on Thursday night.

Meanwell had made her $300,000 bond  and was set to walk free after five months in jail, on the condition that she wear an ankle bracelet to monitor her movements, reported the New York Post . But at the last minute, court officials discovered that paperwork involving the dropping of unrelated harassment charges filed by her ex-husband in another case had not been filed or could not be found, and her release was postponed until the parties could hash out the problem in court Friday. 

Meanwell's mother, Caroline Meanwell, who was also allegedly the focus of another extortion attempt by her daughter, supplied an affidavit to the court that she was providing the bond of her own volition.

Meanwell, who faces 52 counts of stalking Cashman and others, was to stay at the home of her mother's boyfriend, who she also reportedly threatened, in Huntington Co., N.J.
