New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said Tim Tebow's religious devotion is one of the things he likes about his new backup quarterback.
"The fact that spirituality is so important to him is very appealing to me," Kraft said of the former Jet.
"If you want to win in this league, you need quality depth management," Kraft said yesterday, according to The Boston Globe. "In the age of the salary cap, whenever you can get a competitive, first-grade person to join your team, you never know what happens."
Kraft added: "Having him as part of our franchise is great, but he has to compete just like anyone else. We're blessed to have a lot of people like that."
Tebow, 25, signed with the team earlier this week and could earn up to $2 million this season, according to USA Today.
The Jets released Tebow in April, after one season.
