Person struck, killed on LIRR tracks in Rosedale, MTA says
A person was killed Sunday after being struck by a westbound Long Island Rail Road train traveling from Far Rockaway, Queens, to Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, an MTA spokeswoman said.
LIRR westbound train service has been restored to Rosedale, Laurelton and Locust Manor, all in Queens. Earlier, customers on affected routes were accommodated by bus service as investigators examined the scene in Rosedale, according to spokeswoman Sarah Armaghan.
She said the person was struck by a westbound train that departed Far Rockaway at 11:50 a.m. and was due at Atlantic Terminal at 12:41 p.m. The victim was not immediately identified.
