For fans of a long-running British sci-fi series, the big question the past few weeks was: “Who is the new Who?”
The BBC answered that Sunday in a live TV special on BBC America, announcing Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor in its seminal series “Doctor Who.”
“Being asked to play The Doctor is an amazing privilege. Like the Doctor himself, I find myself in a state of utter terror and delight,” the actor said.
Capaldi, 55, is a film and television veteran, most famous for his BAFTA winning role on the BBC comedy “The Thick of It.”
