A day after a prominent Egyptian banker was charged with sexually assaulting and locking up a maid, the Pierre Hotel supervisor who reportedly told her to hold off on reporting the alleged attack has been suspended.

The case involving Mahmoud Abdel Salam Omar, 74, comes a mere two weeks after Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former IMF chief, was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of hotel housekeeper at the pricey Sofitel.

The alleged Pierre groping occurred Sunday night, but the woman was reportedly instructed by her supervisor to wait to report it to security until the next day. The suspension was reported by The Daily News, quoting outraged hotel-union officials.

Omar allegedly asked a maid on Sunday to bring a box of tissues to his $900 a night room. Once she arrived, Omar allegedly locked the 44-year-old woman in the room, groped her and ground against her. She got away only when she allegedly agreed to provide her phone number, but the digits she provided were fake.
