The NYPD raided a five-story building in the Bronx Tuesday and found a massive marijuana farm inside, authorities said.

Every floor of the building, located at 610 Morris Park Ave., was dedicated to growing and packing pot, said Paul J. Browne, an NYPD spokesman. "It's unusual," Browne said. "And, it gives new meaning to a building five stories high."

Police have not released the names of the three men arrested yesterday.

Officers from the Bronx narcotics bureau seized nearly 600 marijuana plants, some more than 7 feet tall, Browne said.

In addition to the plants, which police estimated would yield about 1,482 pounds of marijuana, authorities also found 75 pounds of pot that had already been packaged.

"It looks like a wholesale operation," said Browne.

Police estimated the street value of the marijuana, at $5,000 a pound, to be about $7.8 million.

Public records listed the building's owner as Morris Park Associates LLC.

City real estate records showed that Anthony Scandiffio is a managing partner of the company. He could not be reached last night for comment.
