Police nab last suspect in Bronx gay-bash
Police Monday nabbed the ninth and final suspect in last week’s brutal gay-bashing of a man and two teens in the Bronx, officials said.
Ruddy Vargas-Perez, 22, who had reneged on a promise to turn himself in to police last week, was arrested about 5 p.m. inside a Bronx building, police said.
The eight other suspects were arraigned Sunday on charges including gang assault and hate crime.
The suspects, who call themselves the Latin King Goonies, are accused of sodomizing two 17-year-olds and a 30-year-old with a plunger handle, burning them with cigarettes and slashing them with box cutters because the victims were believed to be gay.
