A resident of the Manhattan high-rise where a Hofstra graduate attended a party before he went missing led investigators to a shallow grave in New Jersey containing a man’s body, NYPD officials said Wednesday night.

Dental records will determine whether the body found early Wednesday in Oceanport, New Jersey is that of Joseph Comunale, 26.

Police have talked to several people about Comunale’s disappearance and investigators consider at least one of those questioned a person of interest. Boyce said the person has a lawyer and is not cooperating.

No one has heard from the Connecticut man since Saturday night when he traveled to Manhattan for the party at the Grand Sutton Tower, a luxury apartment building on 59th Street near midtown, police said.

Comunale’s family spent Wednesday in New Jersey seeking to identify the body, officials said.
He had reportedly gone to the party with two men from New Jersey and three women but was not seen leaving the building.

Investigators determined that Comunale initially went to Greenwich Village and then met up with the group, said NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce Wednesday night.

A person living on the fourth floor of the high-rise spoke with investigators, Boyce said, and led them to the grave in the coastal town about 58 miles from Manhattan.

No have arrests have been made and no information was available about the resident who led detectives to the body.
