Long Islanders heading to LaGuardia Airport will face a new traffic pattern beginning Saturday as they approach the airport, which is undergoing a massive reconstruction, officials said.
Westbound Exit 7 on the Grand Central Parkway will no longer provide direct access to the main terminal, Terminal B, according to the Port Authority, which operates the airport.
A new Exit 6 will provide access to the main terminal, while Exit 7 will provide access to Terminals C and D, where Delta has its main operations, the port agency said.
Terminal B is home to Jet Blue, American, Southwest, United and some regional airlines.
Exit 5, the westernmost airport exit, will continue to provide access to the long-term parking lot, the Port Authority said.
The agency has a map and video graphic online — laguardiaairport.com/news/gcp-exits-to-lga/ — to help motorist navigate the airport roadways.
The airport has seen a number of roadway changes for the past year as it undergoes a major renovation that is expected to cost more than $8 billion and take a decade to finish.
