Pregnant woman, friend stabbed on subway in the Bronx, cops say
A pregnant woman and her 21-year-old friend were stabbed on the subway in the Bronx Thursday evening, police said.
The women were arguing with a 50-year-old man on board a northbound 2 train near Prospect Avenue when cops said the man pulled out a knife around 6:40 p.m.
He then stabbed the 24-year-old pregnant woman once in the neck and stabbed the other woman in the arm, according to police. Both were taken to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center and are expected to survive.
The suspect, who was not immediately identified by police, ran off the train, but was arrested soon after, police said. A knife was also recovered, according to a law enforcement source.
Charges were pending against the suspect Thursday night.
