President Obama in town for West Side fundraiser

Midtown streets will no doubt be extra clogged Monday night while President Barack Obama is in town for a $40,000-per-plate fundraiser tat the posh Nomad Hotel, on Broadway and West 28th St.
The president is set to arrive at 4:30 p.m. and is expected to leave around 10 p.m., according to DNAinfo.com.
Sixty people have purchased tickets for the event.. Obama and hi his GOP rival, Mitt Romney, have been on a mansion-and-townhouse storming tour of the U.S. to raise campaign cash, much of which is expected to be spent on TV ads to run in swing states such as Ohio, Florida and Colorado.
On Aug. 6, the president will be nearby again for two fundraisers. Obama will swing by a $38,500-a-plate shindig at Hollywood magnate Harvey Weinstein's Westport, Conn., estate. before heading to Stanford, Conn., for a $500-a-pop event. On June 14, actress Sarah Jessica Parker's raised about $2 million for the president by hosting 50 donors to her West Village brownstone for dinner with the president.
